Recently several of my young friends have had to deal with the fears of their parents’ illnesses and all the crap that comes with being an adult or a parent. I tell them that this is part of their life’s journey and the quilt of their life. I’m not sure they get it because you have to have lived and suffered to be able to gain perspective on some really upsetting and scary life experiences.
This is not to say that I don’t get terrified on a regular basis because I do but I do see things differently. Time and experience does grant you perspective if you’re paying attention.
Today my life is about as perfect as it gets. This in itself is scary because when things are going great, it’s only a matter of time until that is no longer the case. I am painfully aware of that.
Nevertheness , today I am blessed and I will count my blessings and be grateful for all the people in my life past and present. The following was sent to me by one such person, one of my closest and dearest friends Bonnie who is a very wise woman. Perhaps to those struggling to find perspective, this will help a little. I found it especially thought provoking. Have a wonderful week, be grateful for what you do have and spend your emotional energy on worthwhile people. Please share any thoughts you have on this with me and your fellow blog readers. I really appreciate the comments.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others.
May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content with yourself just the way you are.
Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.

This was very inspirational and meaningful Kay and a great outlook on life to have.
This is just a beautiful and inspiring post, Kay! It’s funny how our minds seem to prepare us for the unpleasant things also..
An interesting comment. I had not thought of it that way but you are right. By thinking positively it makes us more able to take the hits life sends our way. I guess it’s a little bit like sports. If you are balanced and strong the punch still hurts but the bounce back is quicker.
